The Final Days

They let themselves known after the virus took hold and the population started turning. You never expect that day to come, so many books and movies, but nothing prepares you for the undead. It swept the country and continent so quick, the TV stations were off air before the majority were taken.

But just before the transmissions ended, they came out of hiding, desperate, now that their food supply was dwindling. They announced that they were coming and any humans that helped them find a pocket of “untouched” would be spared. Thousands of men and women betrayed their families and friends, bargaining with their lives, for their freedom, including me.

Now I’m chained up in the dark, fed whatever they can get their hands on, and bled daily for the vampires to eat. I wish the zombies had taken me.
